Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador

Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador (CCNL)

The Craft Council of Newfoundland & Labrador (CCNL) is a nonprofit, member-based organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the craft community throughout the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Since 1972, the CCNL has worked to celebrate and sustain fine craft through exhibitions, education, retail opportunities, and hands-on learning.

Located in downtown St. John’s, CCNL operates a public gallery showcasing contemporary and traditional craft, a shop featuring the work of 200 juried, fine craft makers, and a fully equipped clay studio offering classes, workshops, and community access to ceramics.

Through mentorship, professional development, public workshops and cultural programming, we are committed to helping craftspeople thrive and preserving the skills, stories, and spirit of craft in Newfoundland & Labrador. We aim to build a strong, connected craft community and ensure the continuation of valuable cultural traditions.

We believe that supporting craft means supporting culture, community, and the creative economy. Whether you’re purchasing a handmade item, taking a pottery class, or viewing an exhibition, the Craft Council invites you to be part of Newfoundland & Labrador’s living craft heritage.
