MANL Midday Museums: AI Awareness

Date: Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Time: 12:00 PM NST
Location: Online via Zoom

What is Artificial Intelligence? It seems impossible to go a day without hearing about AI or encountering AI technology. It can also be difficult to find basic and practical information about what this technology actually is. What does the term Artificial Intelligence mean? How is it created? How can you learn to spot AI generated content? These are all important questions that can feel daunting.

In her presentation, Anna will provide a foundation for people to better understand AI, whether they are a beginner with limited tech skills, or someone hoping to build upon their current understanding. She will define key technical terms, break down how AI systems are created and trained, examine the impacts of AI, and more. Anna will also specifically discuss the relationship between heritage and AI, giving an overview of the global discussions happening in the heritage and culture sector.
