Bonne Bay Cottage Hospital Heritage Corporation
The Old Cottage Hospital is an historic building that has served the residents of the Bonne Bay area since 1938. Also known as the Julia Ann Walsh Centre, it houses a wellness centre; a community kitchen; a Covid-safe, family-friendly hostel; the VOBB (Voice of Bonne Bay) community radio station; a socially-distanced studio and creative arts meeting space; the Norris Point Public Library and CAP site; and the Old Cottage Hospital Museum Room and tours, as well as a variety of small business tenants.
The Cottage Hospital Museum is located in the former men’s ward on the main floor. Come see how the hospital looked and operated around the early years of its life (1940–1950s), and follow the story of how our hospital grew into the vibrant community centre it is today! Please call 709 458-8032 to book a guided tour.
The Old Cottage Hospital was designated a Municipal Heritage Site by the Town of Norris Point.
